A Message from Jesse Helms

Hello, this is former North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms.  Now that I’m out of public office, I try not to become involved in political matters.  Mostly, I stay at home.  Whittling.  Watching my stories on the television.  Trying to keep busy.  But I feel that I need to speak about what is happening in Iraq and take a strong stance.  I have seen the images that have come out of that Baghdad Prison.  I want to make it clear that I think these photographs are abhorrent, deviant, immoral and show the true depravity of our Arab enemy.  These pictures that the smut-peddlers want our children to view are obscene and destructive.  I fully support banning this type of material.  Our children should not be exposed to what goes on in those degenerate palaces of kink.  Sure, children watch graphic pictures on their Music Television, but now you are talking about homoerotic human pyramids with nude male flesh piled up for all the purveyors of perversion to enjoy and profit from.  This material should be banned.  You have men and women engaged in sadomasochistic bondage, it is disgusting.  My message to the Saddam loyalists is this:  keep your visual terrorism off of our televisions and newspapers.  What is next?  A bull-whip in the rear end à la Mapplethorpe?  Mind you, when I say “à la” I mean the French terminology, not the terrorist God that our enemies pray to.  As Senator, I took on the ACLU; I took on the National Endowment for the Arts, I took on the ruthless, liberal bureaucrats – but now, our enemy is much more insidious, much more sexually explicit.  The pornography coming out of these foreign rat holes might be titillating to certain deviants and perverts, but this is not how things are done in America.  I am going to take my nap now.  Thank you.
