November 11th, 2005 - Since the last update, ACF has had six rocking, Russless, Joshful, shows at our new Sunday, 10:30 PM timeslot; our website has been massively updated, and we now have a Producer, Zev Frank.  You can listen to all of our shows so far this season on our Audio page and can listen live by going to www.wesufm.org.  Keep checking the radio page to see information about upcoming shows, such as topics and special guests.  Aaron's column is still coming out every two weeks, so check them out on the columns page.  The Political Forum is still running, so please read some posts and feel free to send your own in.  Check out bios and work of ACF members by clicking the names below.  Sign up for the newsletter to get new updates.  In the words of Kanye West, "A Crowded Fire cares about black people."

Welcome to the second season of A Crowded Fire!  There have been many updates to the site since you've last visited.  Most importantly, you can now listen to WESU live on the Internet - go to www.wesufm.org and download their streaming audio.  Also, check out new material on the Columns page and the Op-Ed page; a new creative piece under Columnettes; and updated information on the Stand-Up Comedy page and the Radio Show page.  We will be constantly adding to the Radio Show Bits page, so make sure to check back there and listen to whatever is new.  In this public forum of the website, I would like to say something about the semester-long departure of Josh:  a great burden has been lifted and much dead weight has been shed.  If you are interested in a guest spot on the show or in submitting material, e-mail Radio@ACrowdedFire.com.  Also, make sure to join our Newsletter Mailing List - we'd like to thank the several hundred people who have subscribed.  Thanks for looking at the site and hopefully listening to the show.  To conclude this update, I'd just like to add this tribute to Josh, who is wandering Spain:  Buenos dias!  Como estas?  Donde es la biblioteca?  Me gusta mucho la musica.  Gracias, Spanish 101!

ACF has undergone many changes since the last update.  Russ has worked hard on many radio bits, Aaron has written several new pieces,  Josh has produced excellent segments, and Jordan has died.  Also, the main page of this site has been revamped, as it was getting too crowded.  Check out the Columns page; two new columns have been added since the last update.  Download some radio segments - under each heading we have listed some particular bits that we think you'll like.  Few are over 5 minutes.  For those on the Wesleyan campus, you can listen to streaming audio of 88.1 WESU at this link.  Once WESU gets real streaming audio, the link will be posted.  Hundreds of people (seriously!) have signed up for our Newsletter - you should too.  Finally, please send us email and let us know what you think of the site and radio show.  If you want us to put your comment and name under "Voice of the People," let us know.

UPDATES:  The Republican National Convention is now over.  To access the resources listed on this page during the convention, click here.  ACF was hard at work during the convention covering the action and exercising our right to yell arrhythmic, somewhat incoherent slogans in the general direction of Madison Square Garden.  Please enjoy the pictures and the interviews that are displayed.  These interviews will be edited and turned into a segment for ACF - The Radio Show.

First Message/Website Tour

Welcome to A Crowded Fire, a website featuring comedy, political humor, satire, and information about the radio show “A Crowded Fire.”  On this main page you will find two things:  information updates and comments from people about either the website, the radio show, or the individuals affiliated with said projects.  Updates will contain links to parts of the website that have important changes.  For the first message on this main page, I have devised a small “tour” to give you a feel of the site.  No one wants to read garbage filler material, so these links will help you circumvent that.  First, I recommend reading the About page and discovering the reasons that this page exists.  Once you have this firm grasp established, I suggest you check out a column I have written in the past year.  My recommendation is “Nothing but the Truth.”  If you are so inclined, also listen to the audio.  Next, head over to “ACF – Radio Show” and find out what the show is all about.  Check out Josh’s eloquent explication of the title “A Crowded Fire.”  When on this page, read the bios of Russ, Josh, Jordan, and Aaron.  After, you’ll feel like we are all best friends!  BFFs, even.  When finished with the radio page, put on your Fun Wings and fly over to Op-Eds, where you should first read the italicized explanation of WeSpeaks and then check out “Peace in the Middle East – A Nice Thought AND it Rhymes” followed by “Diversity Miseducation” under Bernardsville News.  Make sure to read the italicized blurbs for background info.  Top this off with a Columnette, preferably “People with Headphones.”  After this, pop on over to the Stand Up Comedy section.  Reading this page isn’t necessary, but check out the Updates and see if I have any shows coming up or how I fared in recent ones.  Winding down the tour, swivel on over to the Newsletter and put your e-mail address down for fun updates and occasional wackiness!  For the last stop on the tour, send me an e-mail and let me know what you think of the site!  Certain comments (even really mean ones!) will be posted on the main page, if so desired.  Now, just because Satire, Acknowledgements, Links, the Disclaimer, and many other things didn’t make it on the tour, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give ‘em a look!  Go on - but don’t forget to buckle that seat belt, because the ride can get a little bit wild!

Now wasn’t that fun?  Wasn’t that a really good time?  Didn’t you like that tour?  Don’t you LOVE being told what to do?  You sheep?  You fucking sheep?  GO TO THIS LINK!  AND THIS ONE!  If a link sent you over the side of the Brooklyn Bridge would you click on it?  Robotic vermin!  Fuck you!  Fuck A Crowded Fire!  Fuck the Brooklyn Bridge!  Fuck authoritarian website messages!  FUCK YOU!

Thank you SO much for visiting my page, and don’t forget to do some exploring!  But hey…no snooping!  Just kidding.  Snoop away and enjoy!

Fuckers.

A new message will appear on this page whenever an important update to the site has been made or when there is important information I want to communicate.

I’m dead inside.

Sincerely,

Aaron Sussman (click name for Bio)
